In 1969 VITAL Visual Simulation Systems was born with a few hundred lightpoints depicting a runway generated by a computer in real-time-- VITAL I. When VITAL was first demonstrated at the IMAGE Conference in the early 1990s the VITAL VIII was making extraordinary strides in technological advances in image generated weather and photo-specific databases. Today FlightSafety's VITAL X PC-IG is a world leader for the most realistic images used in flight training. VITAL X's simulation includes important new features such as dynamic shadows, enhanced specular shading using BRDF, water masks, urban illumination features, unique anti-aliasing enhancements, and more. For mission rehearsal and similar requirements the VITAL X provides a Common Database (CDB) Publisher removing the need for off-line compilation. VITAL X also includes a new Display Management System (DMS) that is a complete auto-calibration system for any of the new technology projector products. With over 40 years of proven experience VITAL produces unsurpassed images for today's flight training requirements with databases that encompass the globe.
